“ Wonderful! First impressions from the outside were honestly underwhelming. We read reviews and noticed all the negative reviews that I could find were over a year old. However, you walk into the doors to a large dining room decorated with antiques and other old items. It feels so homey, almost like you’re sitting on a back porch with friends and family. The waitress greeted us with a warm smile and was very helpful with the menu. We enjoyed some pinto beans while we waited for our catfish meals. The beans were great, could have maybe used a bit more flavor but warmed our bellies just fine. The lunch catfish was fantastic, no “old grease” taste at all. We got 4 pieces of fish on a bed of thin French fries (my personal favorite) with 2 hush puppies and a generous helping of tartar sauce. The bathrooms are clean. There is not a changing table BUT there is a large clean counter top which is perfect for taking care of your babies! Bathroom smells great and everything was stocked up. ”

“ This was my first time there along with my wife and her grandparents and our daughter. I love catfish but I also love fish and chips. So I ordered the fish and chips. I thought I could sample a few bites from my wife's plate. The fish and chips were excellent. Malt vinegar was available. The batter was a beer batter perfectly sealing the filet within which was tender and flaky. I thought I could hear Big Ben chiming in the background. The chips were delicious but had they been fried like Belgian fries, truly Fish and Chips. The portions were generous and filling. The Catfish was awesome. Get the full order and take a generous portion home for later. Battered in a lite corn mill crust and fries to a golden brown and tender fish inside and topped with the freshly made tarter sauce will make you tongue so happy it'll smack your brains out. Do order the coleslaw and you'll want a side of the pinto beans. Both delicious. My only disappointment were the hush puppies. They were sad little puppies. Over cooked and didn't rise when cooked. I can only think this was not their normal fare. Maybe the baking powder was old?. Still I give the food 5 star. I'll definitely go again and get the full order. Spent about 19 per person. Tip not included. We tipped our waitress 40. She was engaging, knowledgeable, entertaining and attentive. 5 star ”
